Building your own stretcher with PVC pipes

Dimensions here are for a 37” square stretcher that will accommodate a 35” square scarf

Supplies from Home Depot or Lowe’s:

  • 2 PVC pipes (1in. x 10ft. PVC schedule 40 written on the side for a thick and strong bar)

  • 4 elbows (Charlotte Pipe, 1in. x 1/2in. PVC sch. 40 90-degree SxSx female pipe thread elbow side out)

  • 4 risers (1/2in. x 2in. threaded cut-off riser used for garden irrigation)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the PVC bars into four 37” lengths
    You can have the Home Depot people cut them or you can use a wood saw or you can use a PVC cutter (about $20 at Home Depot)

  2. Push the bars into the connectors to form a square

  3. Attach the “legs”
